UreaKnowHow.com introduces Revamp Guides to support urea plant operators
UreaKnowHow.com now introduces the UreaKnowHow Revamp Guide with the target to guide your through the forest of possible revamp options promoted by the different licensors.
Which revamp option makes sense in my urea plant, what are the references and what are the pay back times?
The Revamp Guide distinguishes the various revamp targets such as Capacity Increase, Energy Reduction, Emission Reduction, On-stream Time Improvement, Product Quality Improvement and Safety Improvement. And also distinguishes between the various plant sections and equipment.
It explains the basic principles of a certain revamp tool and its typical realisation in realising the targets plus defines its major references.

FIORDA is launched!
FIORDA – the Fertilizer Industry Operational Risks Database, is created for collecting and sharing process safety and reliability information among participating companies in the fertilizer industry.
How you can benefit from FIORDA?
FIORDA can identify patterns and trends of similar safety and reliability issues based on repetitive problems occurring in the same plant units or equipment and alert operators to the occurrence of these events,
Through FIORDA database, operators can compare the experiences from different plants such as frequency of an event, severity of the outcome and applied corrective actions,
Corrective actions developed by other operators may be less costly than those tried in the absence of this information,
FIORDA members can develop their own internal incidents database using FIORDA free provided software HAZARDO®.

UreaKnowHow.com attended the 2nd European Power to Ammonia® Conference
On May 17 & 18 the 2nd European Conference on Sustainable Ammonia Solutions was organised again by Proton Ventures in Rotterdam. Using ammonia for storing and transporting efficiently green energy from solar and wind is one side of the coin. The other side is that ammonia can also be used as a CO2 free fuel in several fairly simple manners. Currently costs may be high but several niche applications become economically viable and are under implementation.
Considering the giant size of the energy market it is just a matter of time that the fertilizer industry will start to notice the effects of these developments towards a carbon free energy carrier. Click here for more information
