During the Italian Energy Summit organized by Il Sole 24 Ore , our CEO Alessandro Puliti discussed with Celestina Dominelli the role of Saipem in the energy transition.
The CEO highlighted how our commitment to the energy transition means finding solutions that enable our customers’ investments.
Some examples: the capture, transport and storage of CO2, the construction of plants for the use of gas as a raw material for ammonia – the most important hydrogen carrier – and urea – the basis for the production of fertilizers, essential for agriculture in the face of a growing world population -, up to offshore wind power. 🔸 In the sector of CO2 capture, transport and storage, we have built more than 70 plants in the world for traditional sectors, 200 km of sealine for its transport. Furthermore, we have developed Bluenzyme 200, the solution for the capture of CO2 intended for small and medium emitters. 🔸 In offshore wind, we continue to work in the North Sea and develop new skills and technologies, such as the Star 1 floating system for floating offshore wind. And finally, we are proud to say that as we work on projects and solutions for the energy transition, there is a lot of Italy in our work around the world.
