      Dear My friend

Let me have some recommendations for you to prevent foaming phenomena:

      1. The piping material and specialy packing material in your towers are the most important parameters that will cause foaming phenomena. So all packings and main parts of piping depending your process conditions shall be Stainless steel.

      2. The reboiler temperature is one of another important point that can be affect temperature of aMDEA to approach to degradation of aMDEA, so the item shall be checked and finalized with BASF and your licensor.

3.Optimum aMDEA concentration in circulation is very important that shall be determined with licensor or BASF.

4.First chemical cleaning of the system is very important.

      5. Please isolate the amine sumps that exposed the environment.Oxygen will distroy the amine gradually.

      6. Don’t allow to return the steam or turbine condensates to amine sump.the condensates will contaminate your aMDEA because of some its chemicals.( if any)

      7. Anti foam injection shall be according to licensor procedure because too much anti foam injection can have a reverse effect on your system.

8.please be sure that anti-foam test procedure is followed correctly.

Finally,if you have some more information from your unit I can help you more.

      Best Regards
      Majid
