CASALE Secures Turnkey Contract for State-of-the-Art Nitric Acid Plant for BorsodChem MCHZ, s.r.o. (Czech Republic)

Casale, a global leader in industrial project development, is pleased to announce a significant milestone as its subsidiary, CASALE PROJECT a.s., has successfully secured a turnkey contract with BorsodChem MCHZ, s.r.o., based in the Czech Republic, for the construction of a cutting-edge nitric acid plant.

This strategic collaboration marks the continuation of a long-standing venture between Casale and Borsodchem, two industry giants committed to delivering excellence and innovation in chemical production.

The contract involves the design, engineering, procurement, and construction of a state-of-the-art 450 MTPD of weak nitric acid (WNA) plant, showcasing Casale’s know-how leadership in nitric acid process as well as Casale Project’s expertise in providing comprehensive turnkey solutions. The project aims to meet the growing demand for aniline production contributing to the expansion and sustainability of BorsodChem’s operations.

A distinctive feature of the project is its ability to generate electrical energy without the use of fuels. Instead, it harnesses surplus steam produced during the nitric acid production process through a carefully optimized approach. This not only enhances the overall energy efficiency of the entire site but also underscores our commitment to sustainable practices and resource optimization.

Key highlights of the project include:

  1. Comprehensive Turnkey Solution:Casale and Casale Project will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring a seamless and efficient execution.
  1. Cutting-Edge Technology:The Nitric Acid plant will incorporate the latest Casale’s dual-pressure technology, emphasizing efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. Casale Project is committed to delivering a solution that aligns with local and global standards and regulations.
  1. Strategic Partnership:The collaboration between Casale and Borsodchem signifies a strong partnership built on shared values and a mutual commitment to excellence. Both companies bring their respective strengths to the table, fostering innovation and success.
  1. Local Impact:The project will have a positive impact on the local economy by creating job opportunities and supporting the growth of the chemical industry in the Czech Republic.

The project is subsidized through the European Commission’s Modernization Funds program, an initiative led by the European Union, aiming to assist 10 Member States in achieving their 2030 energy targets by facilitating the modernization of energy systems and enhancing energy efficiency.

  1. Fast track implementation: Emphasizing our commitment to efficiency and excellence, this project is set on a challenging timeline, with swift execution being a focal point. The goal is to meet ambitious deadlines, ensuring that the project not only meets but exceeds expectations in terms of time-to-market and operational readiness.

Mr. Federico Zardi, CEO of Casale, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating:

We are honored to be chosen again by Borsodchem for this significant project. Casale is dedicated to delivering world-class solutions, and we look forward to contributing to the success and growth of Borsodchem through our turnkey approach.
