A new catalyst to synthesize ammonia from H2 and N2 even at 50C

Tokyo Tech researchers developed new green catalyst for ammonia production. Ammonia (NH3) is synthesized globally for use in fertilizers that then enable food production for approximately 70 % of the worlds population. However, the current production process requires high energy powered by fossil fuels contributing global warming.
