This paper shows the foodgrade CO2 standard of the International Society of Beverage Technologists and points out that the total sulfur, benzene and total hydrocarbon specifications are the most difficult to achieve. The paper describes in detail a purification process for foodgrade CO2, developed by Hubei Research Institute of Chemistry and Hangzhou Kuaikai Company, and its main industrial applications.
