1993 Zardi ACSA 5176800 Revamping Urea Process

A method to optimize existing urea carbon dioxide stripping plants by the implementation of a passivation system for passivate the materials in the synthesis section and a decomposer downstream the CO2 stripper operating at a pressure in between the synthesis pressure and the pressure in the low-pressure recirculation. The released vapour in that decomposer is used for pre concentrating the urea solution. The passivation system comprises hydrogen peroxide.
