1981 Pastormerlo Stamicarbon 4269997 Decomposer
This invention describes a stripper or decomposer consisting of two sections. In the first section the excess ammonia from the urea solution coming from the reactor is separated by heating the solution concurrently with the formed gaseous material. The second section will separate the carbamate from the urea by letting the urea solution flow as a falling film in counter current with carbon dioxide.
As advantage it is claimed that risks of flooding at higher N/C ratio’s is diminished and less passivation are is needed as a lower heat exchange area is required.
