1980 Niks Neerlandaise Azot 4219589 Granulation Process
This patent might be the basis of the current Uhde Fertilizer Technology urea fluid bed granulation. A urea solution (70-99.9 wt%) is sprayed on fluidized urea nuclei in the form of droplets having a mean drop diameter of 20-120 micrometer at a temperature at which the water is evaporated from the solution sprayed in the nuclei and the urea crystallizes on the nuclei to form the gran ules having the desired size.
