1935 Hetherington 1986973 Prevention of Corrosion

This invention describes a solution to reduce the corrosionĀ  speeds of chromium steels in the gas phases of a urea synthesis or recirculation sections. The liquid phase is typically protected by adding some cupper metal or cupper compound like cupper carbonate. This invention proposes to operate the gasphases in the urea synthesis section in such a way that intermittently or continuously some liquid gets into contact with the chromium steels in the gas phases.
